The following dogs are not part of the ARPH program. All information has been provided by the private individual or group, not affiliated with ARPH, that is the caretaker of the dog. Anyone using this information is responsible for determining whether the information about these dogs is accurate. ARPH has no obligation, responsibility or liability with respect to the adoption and placement of the dog. These dogs are merely being listed by ARPH on this page as a service in the hope of aiding with their placement and avoiding unnecessary euthanasia. |
Many of these dogs are in animal control facilities with limited space, so time is critical. Also, some shelters list all dogs as mixes, since there is no way to prove the dog is purebred.

Helen is a deaf, double merle Aussie, approx. 10-month-old spayed blue merle female, about 30#, docked tail. She tends to be territorial when other animals are in the house, so it would be best if she lived as an only dog. She is fine at the dog park. She knows the following ASL signs: no, yes, sit, stay, come and is learning others. But she will need more obedience training and reinforcement. Syd is a 7 1/2-year-old spayed female blue merle Aussie, about 45 lbs., docked tail, housebroken. She is afraid of children. Her current owner is having a new baby, and Syd needs a home without small kids. She does best around people and is scared to be alone when there is thunder or loud noises. She will chase cats, has not lived with another dog since she was younger, but she is fine when walking by them on leash. She loves to hike and run and chase sticks. Diamond is a black bi neutered male
who is about 3 years old with a docked tail. He is good with other dogs
and cats. He had not lived with children but does not seem spooked by
them and will come over and say hello. He
had been in a bad living situation and was removed from his owner.
He had been living in a kennel and is now learning to adjust to
house life. He is doing well and is housebroken He has not had any
training and will need work walking on a leash. For

He attended obedience when he was a puppy and he has his Canine Good Citizen. He knows commands/tricks: come, sit, down, wait, off, leave it, stay, go potty. Ozzie has lived his life with cats and is fine with them but will chase squirrels when out walking. She has attended obedience class before and knows some tricks like sit, stay, speak, get your dolly, go away, lay down, shake, beg. She's uncomfortable around strange men and would do best in a female home or with an experienced owner who can work on training to help her get over her fear. She would be best in a home with older children 10 and up. She is good with cats, goats, horses, cows.
